Several years ago I attended a training session on leadership in which one of the speakers talked about the idea of being haunted. She used the example of a painter she met while flying back from South America. The painter said that he was haunted by an unusual plant that he saw there. What haunted him about it was that if he really took it seriously he would have to capture the plant artistically, and for him that meant he would have to sculpt it. Since he had never sculpted before, it would take him into an entirely new medium.
Sometimes we can be haunted by ideas that may require us to develop new interests and abilities. And those interests and abilities might just be what the world needs right now. So what is haunting you?
